Burdur Food, Agriculture and Livestock Vocational School, Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services Department Culinary Program successfully completed the "Boutique Pastry Workshop" event held on May 11, 2026, to support students' professional development and to ensure they closely follow sectoral trends.
In the workshop attended by our first-year Culinary Program students, comprehensive shares were made on the dynamics of the boutique pastry sector, entrepreneurship processes, and modern pastry techniques.
As part of the event, our students had the opportunity to experience the fundamental stages of boutique pastry in a professional process. During the training;
• Techniques for preparing sponge cake in accordance with standards,
• Layering methods that ensure the balance of flavors,
• Coating techniques that are the foundation of a professional appearance,
• Decoration and presentation methods that transform recipes into visual art were conveyed in detail.
After the theoretical presentation, our students moved to the application kitchen stations, where they put the acquired knowledge into practice and produced their own unique cakes. At the end of the training, tastings of the prepared products were conducted, and recipe and technical evaluations were made.
We thank Mr. Özgül HAYKIR (@burdurpasta) for providing a fun and highly educational day for our students, sharing knowledge and sectoral experiences with the future chef candidates, and for his valuable contributions to our Culinary Program and our students' vision.
Our school will continue to resolutely carry out such practical events and training activities to prepare our students for the industry in the most equipped way.
